Molly Koweek
Journalism and storytelling are my passions, and I feel so fortunate to get to do them at WHIO. My first day on air in February 2019 was the day of the Montgomery County water crisis. News has not slowed down ever since! A few months later, I was out in the field covering the destruction of the Memorial Day tornadoes. Later that summer, I spent the morning reporting live from the scene of the Oregon District mass shooting. That was all in the first six months! The majority of my time in Dayton has been during the pandemic, providing viewers the information they need to make informed decisions about their lives. While working at WHIO, I have been honored with a regional EMMY nomination as well as awards from Society of Professional Journalists Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter and Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for my investigative work on a sex abuse case in Springboro. Prior to my time at WHIO I spent more than four years working at WAOW in central Wisconsin as an anchor, reporter, and producer. Before that, I worked as a writer at WHDH in Boston. I have a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. In my free time, I love to read and try new Miami Valley restaurants. Please send me the stories that are important to you, on my Facebook page or Instagram (@mkoweekwhio).
