Bliss, 31, a Columbus, Ohio, native whose real name is Alexis Kaufman and who married singer Ryan Cabrera last year, has been a marquee star in women’s professional wrestling. She portrays the character of a possessed girl who carries a demonic doll named Lilly.

Bliss posted a photo earlier this week on her Instagram Story account sporting a bandage on her cheek.

“Dear younger me, you should have stayed out of tanning beds,” she wrote in a message posted next to the photo, which is now expired but was published in a screengrab on Twitter and published by TMZ.

Bliss told her followers that she is “all clear now” and has only a “short healing time,” the women’s wrestling star said. She went into more detail after a Twitter follower asked if she had seen “marks or spots” that led her to visit a doctor.

“There was a spot on my face yes -- that had gotten worse,” Bliss tweeted in a reply. “So went to get biopsy. Was basal cell carcinoma. During my procedure doc also found other squamous cells. Was a quick and easy procedure.

“Glad I always get my skin checked.”

The Mayo Clinic said that basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas occur on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun the most. Most of these carcinomas are thought to be caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may help protect against this type of cancer.

Bliss announced her skin condition the day before she was revealed on Wednesday’s episode of ”The Masked Singer.”

She told the audience that participating in the reality show allowed her to overcome “crippling stage fright when it comes to singing.”

“I deal with anxiety and this was something that I wanted to show like I can make myself proud and if anyone else is ever like having something where they’re afraid to do something, do something every day that scares you, because I did this today and it was so fun.”

Bliss’ last match on WWE television took place at the 2023 Royal Rumble, when she lost to WWE Raw Women’s champion Bianca Belair. Bliss told CinemaBlend that she will be “at the arena” during April’s WrestleMania 39 event in Los Angeles but did not say whether she would compete.
