BUTLER COUNTY, OH — Zaxby’s is opening a new restaurant in Ohio.
There are currently no Zaxby’s locations in the state, but the Zaxby’s website indicates there is “high availability” for franchise opportunities.
“Zaxby’s has a presence in Ohio, or stores under development, but there are opportunities for growth available,” the website reads.

The new restaurant will go up in Butler County. The Liberty Township Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve construction along Cox Road, near Costco, on Dec. 17, 2024.
This vote also approved a zoning change. The space was originally zoned for a hotel, according to township records.

The Liberty Township location will sit on 1.2 acres of land, seat up to 56 people, and have a drive-thru.
Zaxby’s is known for its chicken “fingerz,” fries, and sauces. It will join other popular chicken restaurants like Raising Cane’s, Chick-fil-A and KFC with locations in Ohio.
The company was founded in Statesboro, Georgia in 1990. There are currently more than 600 locations across southern and southeastern states, according to its website.
It is unclear when construction will begin. News Center 7 has reached out to Zaxby’s for more information.
