Winter Weather Advisory issued ahead of more snow Friday; Bitter cold continues

DAYTON — A Cold Weather Advisory is NOW in effect until 9 a.m. today for Butler, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties in Ohio. It also includes Union and Wayne counties in Indiana.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued starting Friday at 11 a.m. for Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Logan Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and Warren counties in Ohio. It also includes Randolph, Union, and Wayne counties in Indiana until 7 a.m. on Saturday.

TIMING:

Increasing clouds with a chance for snow arriving around or a little after lunchtime.

The heaviest snow rolls through during the evening before tapering off late Friday night into Early Saturday morning.

IMPACTS:

Total accumulation ranges from 2-4″ with isolated spots reaching 5,” according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Austin Chaney.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. If this storm overperforms a bit, an upgrade to a winter storm warning is possible.
