DAYTON — So many animals need a forever home. Adopting from a local pet shelter is a wonderful way to make it come true. The WHIO-TV 7 Circle of Kindness is partnering with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to help match animals with adoptive families and a much-needed, loving forever home.
If you have room in your home, and your heart, explore www.WHIO.com/Pets to see all featured animals just waiting to be loved.
Do you like one of the animals and would like to learn more? Please visit the Humane Society’s website to fill out an adoption application.
Are you interested in meeting the animal in person first? Stop by the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, located at 1661 Nicholas Road, Dayton, OH 45417, to get to know the animal, make sure its temperament and personality are the right fit for you, or find another animal that meets your needs best. You will then be able to fill out the application.
Adoption fees, which cover comprehensive care of each animal, may vary depending on species and age. Typical fees range:
- Cats: $30 to $115
- Dogs: $100 and $375
- Rabbits: $65 to $100 (for a bonded pair)
- Pocket pets (guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters): $10 to $100
- Farm animals: $100 to $1,000
- Exotics (reptiles, birds, etc.): $50 to $200
Important! Due to frequent adoptions, animals featured on this portal are not guaranteed to be available for adoption. Please don’t hesitate to check back at www.WHIO.com/Pets or visit the shelter anyway, as many more animals continue seeking a forever home.
Thank you for your support of pets in need!
