RIVERSIDE — A 75-year-old man is in custody after an hours-long SWAT standoff in Riverside.

Riverside police were dispatched around 11:20 p.m. Sunday to Renslar Avenue and Kimball Court.

Police said that Rodney Lee Caupp made threats and barricaded himself in his home, according to a media release.
Caupp appeared to be having “mental issues,” Riverside police said.

A SWAT team deployed gas, drones and a robot.
Caupp was also shot with Bean Bag rounds.
He came out of his home and was taken into custody around 5:30 a.m.
Caupp was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Police said multiple felony and misdeamoner charges will be filed.
