Troopers identify man killed in Clark County crash

BETHEL TWP., Clark County — A 44-year-old is dead after a crash in Clark County on Friday, according to a spokesperson from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:40 p.m. near N. Hampton Road and New Carlisle Pike in Bethel Township.

An initial investigation found that a Ford Escape was traveling north on North Hampton Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Jeep Liberty.

The impact caused both cars to travel off the left side of the road on New Carlisle Pike.

Marc Nicholas Degrands, 44, of Yellow Springs, was driving the Ford Escape at the time of the crash.

Degrands was pronounced dead on scene, according to the spokesperson.

An 18-year-old man was driving the Jeep Liberty at the time of the crash.

The teenager was treated on scene for minor injuries.
