The store’s closing sale prices were too good to resist for the shoppers at Big Lots Saturday.
“We’re checking out their discounts,” Marilyn Edmonds from Trotwood said.
“Trying to take advantage of their discounts,” John Edmonds said.
Big Lots’ bankruptcy announcement was on the heels of several other big box store closures this year.
“It problem that we have now is a brick and mortar,” John said. “It’s just slowly going away.”

“I think that’s great because I’m not an Amazon online shopper. I like to touch and feel and see what I’m getting,” Edmonds said.
If the sale to Variety Wholesalers goes through, Big Lots would keep their locations and branding.
