DAYTON — A local teacher has been placed on leave after being accused of inappropriate contact with students.

The teacher, who hasn’t been charged at the time and therefore is not being named, is a middle school teacher at the Richard Allen School District in Dayton. They were placed on administrative leave this week, the district confirmed.

“The district was made aware of these concerns and is taking appropriate steps to investigate the matter,” the district said in a statement.
The district said they’re taking parent and community concerns seriously regarding the allegations.
Superintendent Michelle Bozemna told News Center 7 that the matter is now being investigated by police.
