DAYTON — A security guard shot and injured a suspect after shots were fired near a business in Dayton over the weekend.

Dayton Police officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of North Main Street just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday on reports of shots fired.

According to Dayton Police Lt. Steven Bauer, a disturbance occurred at a nearby business.
A security guard was attempting to escort someone from the property when a 32-year-old male suspect began firing shots at a victim.
The security guard then shot at the suspect, striking him.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition, according to Lt. Bauer.
Detectives with the Dayton Police Department Homicide Unit are investigating the shooting.
