OAKWOOD — A student found a suspicious item while parking their car near Oakwood High School on Friday.

The student found an item believed to be bullets while off school property around 11:35 a.m., Oakwood Junior & Senior High School Principal Matt Salyer said in a digital note to parents and staff.

The student reported the discovery to school administrators, who contacted Oakwood Public Safety.
Officers responded and collected the item.
“We thank our student for doing the right thing. We always encourage students who see something, to say something. This serves as an important reminder for everyone to remain vigilant and report any concerns,” Salyer said in the note.
There were no safety concerns at the school.
