SIDNEY — A Sidney woman is dead after being hit by a semi near a local business Friday morning.

Anna Nation, 66, was identified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) as the person killed in the crash.
As previously reported by News Center 7, Sidney police and medics responded at 5:41 a.m. to the 2600 block of Campbell Road on reports that a person was hit by a vehicle.

An initial investigation showed that a Volvo semi-tractor was going east on Campbell Road when it hit Nation.
Nation was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Troopers on the scene told News Center 7’s Mason Fletcher the vehicle involved left the scene.
In a release sent out Friday afternoon, troopers identified the semi’s driver as Davis Pachin, 71, of Lewisburg. He was not injured in the crash.
News Center 7 asked troopers about Pachin leaving the scene of the crash. They said, “is no indication currently that he knowingly did so.”
No charges have been filed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
