The fire was reported at DAP Products Manufacturing Plant at 875 N 3rd Street at 8:45 p.m.

TRENDING STORIES:

Upon arrival, crews found flames and smoke coming from the gas house, which is part of the production line that fills aerosol cans with non-odorized liquid propane gas (LPG).

The building’s sprinkler systems were activated and extinguished the flames, according to Haller.

This fire didn’t spread outside of the gas house.

Engine 32 crews found smoke in the mechanical area of the plant when they arrived on scene.

Haller said the firefighters quickly “performed fire attack” and made sure no one was inside.

Plant employees evacuated the building and no injuries were reported.

Haller said the plant stopped production while fire crews were on scene, but were able to resume work once everything was clear.

The plant is currently on fire watch due to the sprinkler systems being shut off, according to Haller.

The fire started in the gas house production line, but the cause is unclear.

Haller said the fire investigation will resume in the morning.

West Milton Fire Company, Vandalia Fire Department, Huber Heights Fire Division and Bethel Township Fire Department responded to the scene as mutual aid.
