Witnesses told troopers that one of the trucks failed to stop at a stop sign on Spring Valley Paintersville Road and hit a truck traveling southbound on SR-380. Sheriff’s deputies blocked the road for over four hours.

According to Linda Matson who lives in the area, this intersection has been a problem before.

“Maybe we need to look at the flow of traffic and see if we need a roundabout, or if we need traffic lights,” Matson said.

News Center 7 looked into the history of the intersection. Over the last five years, there have been 12 crashes and two of them resulted in serious injuries.

Troopers are investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
