WILMINGTON — An area school district has canceled classes today.

Wilmington City Schools announced on social media they are closed “due to a high number of staff illnesses.”

The school district said the decision was made “to ensure the health and well-being” of their students and staff, according to a Facebook post.
As previously reported by News Center 7, several school districts previously canceled classes last week due to illness. This included Clark Shawnee Schools and Piqua Catholic School.
The school district said they appreciated everyone’s understanding and encouraged everyone to “take precautions to stay healthy.”
They added that they looked forward to seeing everyone back soon.
