CLAYTON — Another local city has moved to ban recreational marijuana businesses temporarily.

Clayton City Council rejected a recommendation from the planning commission that would have allowed marijuana dispensaries or cannabis processing facilities in the city.

Council imposed a moratorium on the issuance and processing of any permits allowing the use or sale of marijuana within the city, according to Amanda Zimmerlin, city manager.
The moratorium would be in effect until Sept. 5.
