Argument on Facebook leads to fight with knife, BB gun in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:07 p.m.:

Two people were injured after an argument on social media led to a fight in Dayton.

Around 12:40 p.m., police and medics responded to the 2000 block of North Main Street on reports of a shooting.

When they got to the scene, police learned that a “victim/suspect” had left the scene and was going north on Main Street.

Dayton Police Sergeant Creigee S. Coleman said an officer found that vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it near N. Main Street and W. Seibenthaler Avenue.

An investigation revealed that two males had gotten into an argument on Facebook and agreed to meet at the N. Main Street location to fight.

“During the fight, one person produced a knife and cut another individual, and the other person produced a BB gun and shot that individual,” Coleman said.

Both were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation.
