Pictures shared with News Center 7 show Sugarcreek Township police, ICE agents, and two men who were detained.
Several social media posts about this incident were shared with News Center 7.
“The impression (is) that Sugarcreek Township police are, were, working in a coordinated effort between ICE and Sugarcreek police. That simply is not the case… Once the traffic stop was made, ICE was contacted for assistance with determining the identity of the occupants,” Sugarcreek Township Police Chief Michael Brown said.
Brown said this traffic stop only involved two people.
Homeland Security confirmed to News Center 7 that ICE agents are looking into potential immigration violations in Ohio and Michigan.
