As News Center 7 previously reported, Cirino pleaded guilty to one count of gross sexual imposition in November. The count was in connection to a relationship he had with a minor student between December 2009 and December 2010.
As part of his sentence, he will also have to register as a Tier 1 sex offender annually for 15 years. With that designation, he’ll be prohibited from living within 1,000 feet of a school or childcare facility.
Cirino worked as a teacher and a football coach for West Geauga Local Schools from 2006 until 2017. In August 2017, he was hired by Strongsville City Schools to teach and be the high school’s head football coach.
WOIO confirmed he resigned from his position in May 2024.
