AKRON — An elementary school was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in the area.

Officials told CBS affiliate WOIO that Forest Hill CLC is on an exterior lockdown after the ICE was seen patrolling nearby.

The superintendent of Akron Public Schools told WOIO there has been no ICE activity inside any Akron schools on Tuesday.
WOIO reported 20 people were arrested in ICE raids across northeast Ohio over the weekend, with 956 arrests nationwide Sunday.
The news outlet has also reached out to the mayor’s office and police department for more information.
