Officers looking for driver who reportedly ran into apartment after chase in Troy

TROY — Police officers are looking for a driver after a chase in Troy late Tuesday night, according to Troy Police Department Sergeant Matthew Mosier.

The chase began before 11:30 p.m. after an officer tried to pull over a car for speeding in the area of Fountain Street.

Mosier said the chase went out of Troy, but the driver eventually turned around and came back into the city.

During the chase, a Troy officer used stop sticks and disabled the driver’s side front tire.

The car eventually turned onto Imperial Court and the driver got out and ran inside one of the apartment buildings, Mosier said.

An iWitness 7 reporter sent News Center 7 pictures of several police officers outside one of the buildings.

Mosier said two passengers are detained at this time and they are actively working to locate the driver.

No police officers were injured in this chase and no cruisers were damaged.

News Center 7 crews are heading to the scene and will continue to update this story.
