Upon arrival, they found a fire in the back of one of the outside buildings.
“It did extend to the inside. There were some injuries to residents, but nobody was transported. They were treated at the scene,” Null told News Center 7.
As for damage to the building, he said this would affect some patients.
“They will have to relocate some patients in that side of the wing,” said Null.
Firefighters had to wheel some patients outside. Null said some nursing patients had minor injuries, mainly smoke inhalation and burns.
He said no firefighters were hurt and the cause is under investigation.
Moraine and Washington Township firefighters provided mutual aid.
