DAYTON — A local mother is in jail after she and her infant son were found safe following an hours-long search in Dayton.

Tiara Bines, 24, and her 3-month-old son were found safe after a lengthy search in the area around the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery on Tuesday. As News Center 7 reported on Tuesday, police arrested Bines after she was found at the Triangleview apartment complex.

A spokesperson for Dayton Police said on Wednesday that the department confirmed Bines threatened to harm both herself and her son.
“There is also evidence of physical harm to the child,” the spokesperson said.
Bines remains booked in the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of child endangering and inducing panic. The spokesperson said on Tuesday that charges will be presented to the prosecutor’s office.
