MLK organizers told News Center 7′s Mason Fletcher that while the cold will last a while, the influence will last forever.

The march goes down Third Street and will take them to the Dakota Center where people will meet for a workshop on conflict resolution.

“We have an opportunity and when we do things such as this, programs and workshops, we come together intergenerationally and talk about whatever is going on in the minds of young people,” said Anthony B. Whitmore, President of MLK Day Dayton.

Fletcher reports that this year’s MLK march will have a message aimed at young people after the Dayton has seen a rising trend of youth violence.

As News Center 7 as reported, this includes fights that have happened at libraries across the city.

Fletcher said anyone planning to attend today’s march in Dayton will need to bundle up.

We will update this story.
