MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio — An inmate escaped from the Muskingum County Jail Saturday evening, according to the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.

Wayne Pletcher, 37, escaped at approximately 5:09 p.m. after he reportedly ran onto 4th Street, which is just outside the jail.

Authorities believe Pletcher had help from a female, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was last seen wearing a tan shirt and pants.
Pletcher is around 5 feet and 8 inches tall, weighs 240 pounds, has full-sleeve tattoos on both arms, and the name “Victoria” is tattooed on the right side of his neck, the sheriff’s office said.
Pletcher was being held on multiple felonies, including tampering with evidence and a warrant for failure to appear, according to our media partners in Columbus, WBNS-10 TV.
There are no injuries connected to Pletcher’s escape.
The sheriff’s office is investigating this incident.
