NORWICH, Connecticut — A Connecticut man was caught driving over 130 mph because he wanted to “get home to see his cat.”

On Sunday, Jan. 26 around 12:48 a.m. a Connecticut State Trooper saw a sedan driving over 130 mph on Interstate 395 in Norwich according to a release.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop after catching up to the vehicle and the driver pulled over to the right shoulder of the interstate.
When the trooper asked the driver, identified as 29-year-old Logan Mirmozaffari of Norwich, why he was driving so fast Mirmozaffari said he wanted to “get home to see his cat.”
According to the release, the trooper began to notice signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol on Mirmozaffari’s person, glossy eyes, and slurred speech.
After failing to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test, Mirmozaffari was placed under arrest.
Mirmozaffari was processed for Reckless driving and Driving While Under the Influence charges, according to the release.
He was later released from custody on a $500 bond. Mirmozaffari is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on Feb. 6.
