LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — A man died in the custody of an Ohio jail on Friday, according to a press release from the Lucas County Sheriff’s office.

James Hessling, 71, became ill while incarcerated at the Lucas County Jail, CBS affiliate WTOL-11 reported.

The sheriff’s office called emergency medical services, who took Hessling to the hospital, according to the release.
Hessling then died, but the cause of death was not included in the release, WTOL-11 reported.
Hessling had been arrested on a fugitive warrant out of Monroe, Michigan on Jan. 31 by the Oregon Police Department, according to the sheriff’s office.
