Humphreys will receive approximately 218 days of jail time credit, according to court records.
He is now considered a Tier III Sex offender, which requires him to register his address with his local sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.
As previously reported by News Center 7, a jury found Humphreys guilty of attacking a woman along a bike bath in Springfield in May.
During opening statements during the trial, prosecutors revealed he approached her on a walk and asked her on a date.
“To which she replied, ‘I’m married. No, thank you.’ The male then asked, ‘Can I at least pay you?’ And begins following her,” Slagle said.
Prosecutors said that man was Humphreys who then ran at the woman, knocked her to the ground, and attacked her, but that woman fought him off and called 911.
Humpreys’ DNA was found under the woman’s fingernails and she also picked him out of a lineup.
According to a previous News Center 7 report, Humphreys was a registered sex offender before this incident occurred.
If Humphreys is released from prison, he will be on probation for the strangulation conviction for up to three years, according to court records.
