COLUMBUS — A man who had been banned from all Walmart locations was arrested at a Columbus Walmart.

On Jan. 14 33-year-old Seth Stires was arrested at the Georgesville Rd Walmart in Columbus after attempting to steal from the store.

According to a police report obtained by News Center 7, Stires reportedly took two duffle bags from the sales floor and filled them with additional merchandise.
He then took the duffle bags and left through the fire exit in the back of the store without paying for the items before fleeing the property on foot.
A witness saw Stires walking along Geogesville Rd and into M&S Carryout at 590 Georgesville Rd, according to the police report.
Stires had previously been issued a formal trespass notice and banned from all Walmart retail locations on Dec. 10, 2023, according to the police report.
Stires was charged with Burglary, a second-degree felony, according to Franklin County Municipal Court documents.
During his arraignment on Jan. 23, the case was dismissed, but it could continue in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, according to the court documents.
Stires does not appear to be in jail at this time.
