SPRINGFIELD — A man was arrested after a heavy police and SWAT presence in a Springfield neighborhood Monday morning, according to a Springfield police sergeant.

Springfield police and a SWAT team were called to the 1600 block of S Fountain Avenue to serve a warrant around 9 a.m.

The sergeant told News Center 7 that the warrant was for Richard Rogers, who was wanted on felonious assault charges.
Authorities arrested Rogers around noon.
SWAT and police were on scene for approximately three hours, the sergeant said.
