EATON — Police are investigating after someone reportedly passed a fraudulent check to make a purchase at a Preble County store.

Preble County Power Equipment & Rental said a man came into their store and used a fraudulent check to buy STIHL professional backpack blowers, a BR 700 X and BR 800 X MAGNUM.

Images from the store’s security camera show a man with dark hair and a beard wearing a white hoodie that says “West Coast California.”

The owners said the man had a driver who stayed in a blue Ford sedan in the parking lot.

The car came west from Eaton and left going east toward Dayton.

Eaton Police are currently working to identify these suspects, the store’s owners wrote in a social media post.
