Man accused of driving from traffic stop with officer in car issues plea

DAYTON — A 31-year-old-man accused of driving from a traffic stop with a Dayton officer stuck inside a car has issued a plea.

Antonie Still pleaded guilty to count each of felonious assault and obstructing official business on Dec. 9 in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, according to court documents.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Dayton officers attempted to stop Still for a traffic violation in the area of Bierce Avenue and South Torrence Street on May 13.

“Do me a favor and stop messing with stuff in your vehicle,” an officer is heard saying on body camera footage.

He didn’t follow orders, so officers told him to get out of the car.

“Get out of the vehicle! Get out of the vehicle!” an officer said.

While struggling with two officers, Still put the vehicle in drive and took off with one partially inside.

He ended up crashing the car into a parked vehicle, backed into a tree, then jumped out and took off running.

Within five minutes, officers found him under a porch and arrested him.

“Roll over on your stomach and get out here now! Get out here!” an officer is heard saying on body camera footage.

Still’s sentence could include fines as much as $22,500. He faces possible prison terms of three to 16-and-half-years for felonious assault and six to 12 months for obstructing official business, court documents said.

He faces up to fives years of probation.

As part of the plea, charges of kidnapping and resisting arrest were dismissed, court documents indicated.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2025.
