“I would definitely not leave the house if I don’t have to,” Dayton resident Oscar Thorson said. “Especially tomorrow, when it refreezes.”
Thorson was out as the snow squalls were really coming down, but he didn’t notice how much snow fell until it stopped.
“Now that it’s all on the ground, I’ve noticed it’s a little bit slippery. So I’d say just watch out for that,” Thorson said.
News Center 7 reached out to the Ohio Department of Transportation to hear their plans for treating the roads.
Loryn Bryson with ODOT said they are treating the road with an agricultural liquid that will help keep refreeze from happening.
Many people, including Dayton resident Bennett Winkler, are not looking forward to leaving the house in these conditions. “We have a steep driveway at my house,” Winkler said. “It’s kind of hard to get up that when it snows a lot.”
Thorson says he’s been reminding friends and family to be safe on the road.
“Make sure you’re not in a rush. If you’re late, you’re late, it’s not the worst thing in the world,” Thorson said. “Rather be late than ruin your car or even get hurt.”
