“Myself and my wonderful staff have worked very hard over the past 15 months to build something really special,” Gannon wrote. “We have made a lot of friends and appreciate everyone who has supported us along the way. Unfortunately, things are tough right now.”
She said she’s put a lot of her own money into the shop, but made the choice to close “before complete financial devastation sets in” that she may not be able to recover from.
“Business just wasn’t sustainable,” she said.
Gannon said she plans to move her real estate brokerage, Local Roots Realty, into the space the The Local 937 is currently in.
“We fought the good fight and did our very best. It was an absolute pleasure to serve each and everyone of you that came in the store,” Gannon said. “So please come and see us during our final weeks and give us a hug, going out with a bang and being busy our last few weeks would be amazing!”
