MONTGOMERY CO. — The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center says this week’s adoption rate has helped their critical overcapacity situation.

29 dogs were adopted this week and 11 more were taken into foster homes, ARC says. Their 2024 weekly average was 19 adoptions and 3 foster placements.

However, they say they still have too many dogs. Their facility is meant to safely house 82 dogs, but they currently have 99 dogs, ARC says.
ARC says that “if you’ve been thinking about adopting or fostering, now is the time!”
Every adoption comes with a free spay or neuter, vaccinations, heartworm testing and treatment, current license, microchip, 30-return policy, and free monthly training classes, ARC says.
