DAYTON — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the majority of the Miami Valley ahead of accumulating snow that arrives late Wednesday night.

The advisory is for Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Warren counties in Ohio from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday.
Union and Wayne counties in Indiana are also under this advisory.
Clouds will continue to increase through the evening as the Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect. Snow showers will continue into the early morning and could linger through the day Thursday, especially north of Interstate 70.
Snow showers are expected to impact the Thursday morning commute, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Austin Chaney.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the low 20s. Wind gusts could reach 20 to 25 mph, according to Chaney.

The snow that fell overnight will be very dry and will likely blow back on the roadways.
Chaney said rural roads exposed to farmland will remain tricky through the day due to the blowing snow.
