4 tornadoes touched down in Ohio Sunday night, NWS says

WARREN COUNTY — The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that four tornadoes touched down during Sunday’s severe weather.

One of the tornadoes touched down in Butler County north of New Miami and was determined to be an EF0, according to the NWS.

That tornado had a peak wind speed of 80 mph and was 150 yards at its widest.

The NWS estimated that its path stretched nearly seven miles.

The second tornado touched down in Warren County near Corwin Road and was also determined to be an EF0.

The third tornado touched down in Butler County near West Chester and continued east across Warren County just west of Morrow. This also was an EF0.

The fourth tornado was an EF1 that touched down in Jeffersonville, Fayette County, at approximately 9:35 p.m.

The strongest winds reached 90 MPH and caused damage to several barns, buildings, power poles and trees, according to the NWS.

A storm survey team is continuing to determine the paths of the tornadoes.
