Level 1 Snow Emergency issued for Auglaize, Mercer, Logan counties

LOGAN COUNTY — UPDATE @ 9:28 p.m.: Logan County has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency.

UPDATE @ 8:11 p.m.: Mercer County has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency for all unincorporated areas of the county, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office announced at 8 p.m. The alert includes all state routes, county and township roads in the affected areas, Sheriff Jeff Grey’s office said.

INITIAL REPORT:

A Level 1 Snow Emergency has been issued for Auglaize County, Sheriff Michael Vorhees announced tonight.

A Level 1 means that roadways are hazardous because of accumulated snow or ice and may become slippery in spots. You are asked to drive cautiously.

Residents are asked not to call the sheriff’s office to make general inquiries about road conditions because the dispatch center is busy, the sheriff said.

Residents are also asked not call the sheriff’s office to ask whether you should report to your workplace. That is between you and your employers, the sheriff said.
