DAYTON — Three people were hurt after a shooting at a local park Thursday evening.

The shooting happened at McIntosh Park in the 800 block of Riverview Avenue around 7:15 p.m.
An initial investigation found that a male and female, who have a relationship, got into a fight.
The two allegedly exchanged gunfire, which led to multiple injuries.
On scene, Dayton Police Lieutenant Clinton Evans said three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The female who fired shots was struck by gunfire, and an adult male and adult female bystander were also injured during this incident.
Two of the three injured were taken to the hospital.

“We developed suspect information. We were able to locate, with the help of witnesses, who the potential shooter was. We do have them in custody through interviews with other witnesses,” Evans said.
Evans added that officers found three firearms at the scene and they believe two were used in the shooting.
News Center 7’s Amber Jenkins was on scene and saw crime scene tape blocking a shelter and evidence markers on the ground.
Our crews also saw police going through parked cars on the street.
The entire park was a crime scene.
“My son come over here to play basketball. I come over and chill with my friends. I ain’t never had no animosity down here,” David Luther, of Dayton, said.
Luther was one of the many people watching Dayton police search McIntosh Park for evidence.
He knew something serious happened when he saw first responders carry away people for treatment.
“It’s a shame with the shooting and kids down here, I’m a parent myself. And I’ve warned my son constantly of things like this,” Luther said.
The department said the male and female involved in this incident have a history of violence between each other.
“The use of firearms to resolve conflict occurs far too frequently and often results in the tragic loss of lives. We are fortunate that no additional injuries occurred during this event. I am calling on our community to be outraged by these violent crimes and to work collaboratively with law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and our community partners to drive meaningful, systemic change,” Dayton Police Chief Eric Henderson said.
This shooting remains under investigation by detectives from the Dayton Police Department’s Violent Offender Unit.
