Just before 7 p.m. Dayton police and medics were called to a crash in the 1300 block of Harshman Road, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.
According to police investigators, an SUV crossed the centerline of the road and hit two other cars.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. One other person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officers said they do not know the exact cause of the crash at this time.
“It did start to snow,” Sgt. Gordon Cairns with the Dayton police said. “The roads were starting to get slick. That could very easily have been a reason. But again, these are all things that we’ll have to look into and get some sort of toxicology report.”
After tow trucks remove the cars from the scene, plow trucks are expected to go through and clear the road of snow and put down salt.
After the road has been salted, it will be reopened to drivers.
