Infant ejected from moving car during police chase

BRYAN, Ohio — An infant was ejected from a moving car during a police chase in Ohio.

In a release posted to Facebook, the Bryan Police Department responded to the Bryan Ohio Walmart after receiving tips that a man with an active arrest warrant had been spotted there on Dec. 1 around 9:30 p.m.

Police located the man, identified as 32-year-old Zachary Chervenka of Butler, Indiana, and attempted to make contact with him.

During the encounter with officers, Chervenka got into his vehicle and fled the scene with two children in the car.

While officers pursued the vehicle, an infant was ejected from the moving car, although officers did not see this at the time.

The pursuit was later terminated due to hazardous weather conditions and high speeds, according to the post.

Both children were located, and the infant was taken to Toledo Hospital for further evaluation and was reportedly in fair condition.

Chervenka was arrested by the Edgerton Police Department on Dec. 2, according to an update on the post.
