COLUMBUS — An executive order signed by Gov. Mike DeWine means all state employees will return to the office full-time.

“It is now in the best interest of the citizens of Ohio for State of Ohio employees to complete a return to a physical office or facility to best serve the public and maximize the use of state-owned assets and facilities,” the order reads.

Many state employees switched to remote work in March 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump requiring federal employees to return to work in person.
The Trump administration is also offering buyouts to federal employees to reduce the government workforce. The deadline to apply is Feb. 6.
