Tuesday, Kara was sentenced to 8-12 years in prison and is being fined $10,000, the prosecution’s office said according to both sources.
The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office says the charges stemmed from an April 2024 incident when he sexually assaulted a woman at his home, according to WKYC.
Kara has also been designated a tier III sex offender, which will require him to register as a sex offender every 90 days for the rest of his life, both sources confirm.
Kara forfeited his Ohio medical license in 2018 due to an investigation that found he was improperly prescribing weight loss drugs, sources say.
