As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, multiple mothers said their infants suffered brain injuries at the Early Beginnings daycare on Shull Road in Huber Heights.

TRENDING STORIES:

Montgomery County Municipal Court Eastern Division court records show that there are four separate victims. Huber Heights police reports refer to three victims.

The police investigations and a new lawsuit center around workers at the daycare.

Former daycare worker Jessica Matthews has been charged with one misdemeanor count of endangering children, according to court records.

However, the new lawsuit also includes five other unnamed Jane and John Doe employees.

Early Beginnings Child Care and Learning Center released the following statement regarding the new lawsuit.

“We are aware of the recent lawsuit filed in Montgomery County concerning allegations involving a former employee.

The safety, well-being, and development of the children in our care remain our highest priorities.

We understand that this situation may raise concerns, and we remain committed to transparency and maintaining the trust of our families. While we are unable to provide further details due to the ongoing legal process, we want to emphasize our dedication to upholding the highest standards of care and safety.

Due to privacy concerns, we cannot comment on personnel matters.”

The daycare’s statement doesn’t ease the pain of the mother who filed the latest lawsuit.

“The most traumatic moment ever to hear that your daughter has a brain injury, that you don’t know how it happened,” she said.

Huber Heights police reports show that the department asked the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office to approve felony charges connected to this case, but they declined.

Prosecutors with the Eastern Division court approved Matthews’ charge.
