CHASE COUNTY (KS) — A semi-truck driver was nearly hurt after a flying chunk of ice flew off the top of a van and into the windshield.

The Chase County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas posted video of the incident on social media.

The video shows the ice flying off the van and hitting the semi’s windshield on U.S. 50 on Jan. 9 around noon CST.
The sheriff’s office also posted a photo showing the damage to the driver’s side.
“The driver of this semi did an incredible job of safely bringing the unit to a stop. Although he had minor cuts from glass and refused transport to the hospital, it could have been so much worse,” the sheriff’s office said.
They also asked drivers to “take the extra time and clean off vehicles.”
