Storm Center 7′s Weather Specialist Nick Dunn said this advisory is due to wind chills forecasted at -10 to -20 degrees.

Prolonged exposure to this type of cold can increase risks for frostbite and hypothermia if proper precautions are not taken.
For some, this is the first Cold Weather Advisory ever issued and is part of some products being changed from the National Weather Service, according to Dunn.
The old term was Wind Chill Advisory, but it is now Cold Weather Advisory.
A Cold Weather Advisory is issued when air temperatures or wind chills of at least -10 degrees are expected, Dunn said.
In contrast, an Extreme Cold Warning would be issued when air temperatures or wind chills below -25 degrees are expected.
News Center 7 will continue to follow this story.
