FRANKLIN — A dozen people were displaced after an apartment fire in Franklin Saturday morning.

Around 9:53 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Boulder Drive on reports of an apartment fire, according to a Franklin Police and Fire dispatcher.

Upon arrival, crews found fire coming from a second-floor apartment of the 12-unit apartment building, according to Franklin Fire Chief Dan Stitzel.
The fire had extended up through the roof upon their arrival.
Crews were able to quickly get the fire under control. No injuries were reported to the residents or firefighters.
Crews from Clearcreek Township, Carlisle, Middletown, the Miami Valley Fire District, and Joint Emergency Medical Service (JEMS) responded as mutual aid.
Stitzel said the fire was contained to the apartment where it originated, but there is smoke and water damage to the adjacent and first four units.
A total of 12 people were displaced as a result of the fire. Eight of them are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though Stitzel said it appears to be accidental.
There is approximately $100,00 worth of structure loss and $50,000 worth of content loss.
