“I’m so excited about it,” Andy Hoffbauer said.
Hoffbauer is the co-owner of ContempoRoast in Centerville. ContempoRoast has been around for almost two years, and Hoffbauer has been looking forward to collaborating with other local businesses since before they opened.
“We talked about, it’d be really cool to be able to get together with some of the other local breweries,” Hoffbauer said.
Now, with some help from local government, they are able to work with other local businesses toward a common goal - get more customers in the door.
“Being able to have that support from the local government that, you know, the local community I know has been asking for, too,” Hoffbauer said. “So happy to see it.”
Throughout the month of February, customers throughout Centerville can claim a card that lists the 23 businesses involved in the program. Customers get to choose between the coffee lovers’ card, which is for local coffee shops or the beer, wine and mixed drinks lovers’ card, which is for local breweries and pubs.
Each time a customer visits one of the businesses, they get a sticker. Collect enough stickers and they can redeem their card for either a pint class or a coffee tumbler.
Development Director for the City of Centerville Erik Collins says, outside of increasing business, it also helps facilitate feedback from customers.
“We’ll be able to provide to those businesses because they’ll actually hear why the customers like those businesses,” Collins said.
There are flyers at each business with a QR code. The code, when scanned, allows a customer to submit feedback through text, audio or video,
“We’re thrilled to see any and all feedback we get. Always hoping for positive [feedback, but] critical feedback is just as important to us, if not more so,” Hoffbauer said.
Residents can get their card during February, but they have until March to turn the card back in at the Centerville Government Building to claim their prize.
