Dispatchers ran the plate of the car believed to have caused the crash and found it came back to an address in the 300 block of Bearcreek Court.

When officers arrived at the address they found what appeared to be fresh blood leading up to the door, according to a police narrative.

After knocking several times without a response, officers started the process of getting a search warrant.

While waiting for the search warrant, officers got a call from a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy who said they knew Few-Smith and that he called them asking for help.

The deputy called Few-Smith and asked him to surrender to the police, according to the narrative.

Minutes later he came out with his hands up, officers noted he was wearing clothes that matched witnesses’ description of the suspect.

Officers asked Few-Smith if he was hurt and “he stated only his ‘pride’ was hurt,” an officer wrote.

Few-Smith told one officer he ran from the scene because he wanted to “kiss his wife and kids goodbye.”

Officers noted they found boxes of Patron Tequila in the car and Few-Smith admitted to having three to four “shots” before getting in his car to go home, according to the reports.

After being checked out by nurses at Kettering Health Dayton, Few-Smith was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
