A preliminary investigation found that Alexander Derr, of Bradford, was driving a Chevrolet Truck east on Horatio Harris Creek Road at the time of the crash.
The spokesperson said Derr crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road.
The pickup hit a fence, two utility poles and a stop sign before stopping in a ditch.
Derr refused medical treatment on scene.
Deputies began an OVI investigation after spotting an open alcoholic beverage in the truck and smelling alcohol on Derr, according to the spokesperson.
Derr was arrested but is not currently booked in the Darke County Jail, according to jail records.
